I was in bed last night thinking about our apartment. It seems so small. But then again when we were in Ireland all the rooms seemed so small as well. It occurred to me that it’s all about conservation: saving space and energy. Each room here is small; the bedrooms have just enough room to walk around the beds. The bedroom doors close automatically – to keep in heat? I thought the kitchen was an efficiency kitchen – but now I’m thinking that it may be normal. There are also individual wall heaters in each room… and the water heater only heats during the night and is controlled by the utility company! There are power boosters on the water heaters that you *can* run during the day if you need. And all the lights are wimpy compact fluorescents!
Speaking of conservation of space and energy, can you find the dish washer, clothes washer and clothes dryer in this picture of our kitchen?
